Veronica Daley Zaleha
Veronica has been writing since she was in second grade. She grew up in Boise, Idaho where she attended public schools K-12 and Boise State University to earn her BA in English, Secondary Education and her MA in English. She taught English Language Arts classes for the Boise School District for seventeen years, and then, having earned her Library Science certification from The University of Idaho , she continued at Timberline High School as their teacher librarian for another five years. In 2009 she said goodbye to Boise's beloved river and foothills to fall in love with the ocean and redwoods of Santa Cruz, California, where she continues her work as a teacher librarian for Santa Cruz High School.
All the while, Veronica has pursued her passion for the written word publishing poetry and essays throughout college and while teaching full-time. She did this with the support of her poetry instructor, Tom Trusky, the director of her master's thesis, Bruce Robbins, members of her long-time writing group, Jim Stark, Barbara Olic-Hamilton, Lola Booth, Gaymon Bennett, Maggie Koger, Tony Collis, Boise State Writing Project, under the direction of Jeffrey Willhelm, Central California Writing Project, under the direction of Louann Baker, National Novel Writing Month participants, and Jory Post of Santa Cruz Writes.
Veronica has been encouraged to curate her published writing, and even some of her works in progress.
This website has been created for that purpose.
In addition to writing, Veronica loves reading, meditation & yoga, walking & hiking, bicycling, music, playing ukulele & guitar, singing, and dancing.
